Following the dinner, at 7 p.m., the Praise Band from the United Methodist Church of Westford, MA will play.  Pattie Money, Nancy Bush, Blake Cerullo and Laurie Ganger offer a line-up of passionate, dedicated and diverse voices to lead the singing.  Bill Kruger sings, writes songs and plays lead guitar, joined by Pete Money, who plays a masterful bass guitar and also sings occasionally.  Lynne Mueller adds a skillful and lilting keyboard, and professional drummer Tod Salmonson holds it all together with creative rhythm.  The music they do is drawn from contemporary Christian songwriters of international acclaim, augmented by original pieces, all presented with polish, deep devotion and joy!

Pastor Bill had lovely things to say about the Wesley Church family and his vision for our impact on the community:

Flug said he is grateful to have been appointed to the church at 50 Woodland St., where he started working full-time on Feb. 1.  “They are a lovely congregation of people,” Flug said. “They are compassionate, dedicated, skillful and considerate. I cannot say enough about these people.”

He said he has plans to expand outreach to the Lincoln and neighboring communities.
“I’m looking for some way to make a difference in Central Falls,” Flug said. “Even if we make a difference in one family’s life, it’s worth doing.” He also has plans to participate in events and projects with the Shepherd of the Valley United Methodist Church and the Arnold Mills United Methodist Church in Cumberland, whose pastor Lynn McCraken worked with Flug at the church in Scituate. The community service and collaboration will complete one of his goals, Flug said, “to continue, and to contribute to the kind of congregational care that people here have been offering to one another.”
“We’re here to make a difference,” Flug said.

The kids are not stopping either.  Over the next few weeks they will be raising money for our 30 Hour Famine.  On March 9^th-10^th the youth group will be going without food for 30 hours to raise money and awareness about hunger around the world.  The 30 Hour Famine, developed by World Vision, is a time to learn about hunger through fellowship, worship and community service.  It is amazing how powerful 30 hours together on an empty belly can be.  We ask for your prayers and support during this time of growth.
