God’s love does not end at the sanctuary entrance and neither does Wesley’s commitment to spreading the Good Word. The congregation is actively involved in many mission projects, both locally and globally, working to create a better world today for all of God’s children. We also create many opportunities throughout the year to welcome the broader community to Wesley UMC and facilitate connections among neighbors. Below are just some of the current and annual activities at Wesley:
Mission & Community Outreach
Support for victims of natural disasters through UMCOR Care Kits
Food collection for the local food bank
Christmas Adopt-a-Family program providing gifts for those without the means to purchase themselves
Winter coat and hats/mittens collection for local families in need
Support of Nothing But Nets – a global, grassroots campaign to raise awareness and funding to combat malaria, one of the largest killers of children in Africa
Good Friday Walk for Hunger
Fellowship Groups
Women of Faith Group meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30. The women read a faith based book and them gather for lively discussion, prayer, support and warm, caring fellowship. The women in the group come from various churches and denominations and their age range is from 30′s to 80′s. They go on an annual spiritual retreat each spring. All are welcome to come any time!
We are always open to providing opportunities for new groups to form. If you have an idea, let us know and we’ll do our best to get the group started.
