Advent at Wesley

The season of Advent is the time of year when we focus on the “The Christ We Await” and what his coming will mean to us. A major tradition of the season has been the advent themes of Joy, Hope, Peace and Love. We light advent candles to mark the days and to acknowledge how those special gifts shape our vision as we await the Lord’s coming.

The plan for our worship this season:

December 2: Joy seen in Isaiah 55:1-13 and in the theme “Christmas Has Done Me Good!”

December 9: Hope revealed in Isaiah 40:1-11 and in the theme “If They Would Rather Die”

December 16: We will pause and enjoy our Annual Christmas Pageant put on by the children and youth of Wesley

December 23: Peace in the promise of Isaiah 42:1-13 and in the theme “Mankind Was My Business”

December 30: Love proclaimed in Isaiah 60:1-3 and 61:1-4 and int he theme “As If It Had Cost a Fortune”

Come and take time this Advent season to prepare your heart for the fullness of God’s gift in Jesus Christ!
