Wesley UMC – Changes due to COVID-19

Like all organizations, we at Wesley are doing our best to stay up to date with current CDC and RI Public Health guidance on activities and gatherings. As such, we have made the following changes to our scheduled worship and activities:

Worship – will be provided via live stream each Sunday at 10 am from our church Facebook account. We welcome any and all to join us in Worship from your homes then. The recording will also be available to watch after streaming. We do not encourage attendance in person at the church.

Sunday School – canceled for the foreseeable future.

Family Movie Night – originally scheduled for March 28 is canceled. Will be rescheduled at a later date.

Bunny Breakfast & Easter Egg Hunt – originally scheduled for April 11 is canceled.

We will continue to be the church together, even when physically separated.  We can do this by praying for each other and for all affected by the virus – either directly or indirectly.  Place phone calls to those who are most vulnerable or who are alone.  Reach out to each other and stay connected and share Christ’s love in whatever way you are able to.

If you are in need of assistance during this time, we encourage you to email Pastor Beverly Stenmark at pastor@wesley-umc.org. We will be activating various forms of support for those in need throughout this crisis, such as meal or grocery delivery and prescription delivery.

We recognize the need for social distancing/physical separation at this time, but also the need for community in a crisis. We can do both to help each other, our neighbors and the broader community through this challenging time.
