Northern RI Food Pantry

Wesley UMC is very excited to be doing something to help others in need during this COVID19 time (which is temporary) and into the future. A tremendous number of people are still in need of FOOD NOW and no doubt will be well into the future.  After research and phone calls we feel our fit is with the Northern RI Food Pantry in Cumberland, RI.   They are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and run by  “All Volunteers!”  Check out their website at  www.nrifoodpantry.org.  They are a busy organization and welcome not only our food and cash donations but also welcome us to join them in the spirit of serving families and individuals who desperately need our support.

Each month we are given a list of food items needed such as pancake mixes, peanut butter, canned meats etc.  They usually need approximately 400 of each item and we aim to meet that goal each month!  To learn the item of the month, contact the church office at 401-724-7954 or via email. We collect the items at the church and the food bank volunteers pick up our donations at the church. Can’t shop yourself, but want to help? You can donate money to the church (just indicate food bank in the memo area) and our volunteers will shop for you.

Matthew 25:40 – And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.”
